Small Groups

WHY SMALL GROUPS?

“Life change happens in the context of relationships.”

What does the Bible say about relationships?

  • 1 John 1:7 (NLT) – 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
  • Hebrews 10:25 – (NLT) – 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

Small Groups keep us connected

  • Small groups are the most effective way of closing the back door of our church. We never worry about losing people who are connected to a small group. We know that those people have been effectively assimilated.
  • The larger our church grows, the more important small groups become for handling the pastoral care functions. They provide the personal touch that everyone needs, especially in a crisis.
  • Small Groups consist of 4-15 people who meet regularly to study God’s word and just talk about life. It is an environment where people pray, care for and encourage one another. Most groups meet in homes, but also can be found at local coffee shops, restaurants or community centers.

Our culture devalues personal relationships

  • Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV) – 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
  • Our Vision: Our vision is to help strengthen families – in marriages, in living single, in raising children, in being Godly men and women, by empowering them to “Be Like Christ”.
  • Our Mission: Our mission is to promote healthy families by providing love, freedom, and healing to everyone through the ministry of the word and life giving relationships with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.
